About This Sermon:

I Met Jesus at the Feast of Weeks
Leviticus 23: 15-22; Acts 1:1-9; Acts 2: 1-13, 41

The Feast of Weeks was a feast of transformation

Originally was a post-harvest festival
50 days after Passover
People recited Psalm 67 daily in preparation

The Nature of the Celebration transformed over the years

After the captivity, no longer a harvest feast but a feast celebrating the 10 Commandments
Waiting for the Promise/Gift

The Name of the Feast transformed to the Feast of Pentecost

The Nature of Evangelism transformed
Acts 1:8

The Disciples were transformed

Even the use of Language was Transformed

Life itself is Transformed
2 Corinthians 3:6
Exodus 32:28
Acts 2:41

In Pentecost the Holy Spirit redeemed what the OT Law could not do in the Feast of Weeks

Lessons from the Feast of Weeks:
1. Personal transformation is what Pentecost is all about
2. As such, the believer must get rid of all excuses and serve God in the power of his Spirit
3. Third, we must embrace the strategy of the HS in Pentecost
