1. The holiness of God is so great, so radiant that no one can look upon his face
a. Isaiah 6:5

2. But God calls us to that same holiness
a. Leviticus 11:44

3. This tension is what the feast of Unleavened Bread is all about

4. The feast had two components:
a. Positive: Eat the unleavened bread every day of the feast
b. Negative: Remove the unleavened bread from your household
c. Exodus 12:15

5. This Feast called Israel as a nation to be Holy; a nation free of “leaven”
a. Matthew 16:11-12

6. Even today believers are called to “rid their homes of leaven”
a. 1 Peter 2:9

7. Jesus did not come to wash away your leaven, he came to BURY it
a. Matthew 27:57-60
b. He became leaven for us

8. For this reason, believers are already Holy
a. Colossians 2
b. 1 Corinthians 5:6-8
